In Oslo tomorrow? Join us at Kloden teater!![]()
Kloden Teater invites you to the seminar «Theatre as the Third Place»:![]()
Kloden theatre is following up on last year’s seminar at Heddadagene on this topic and invited Norwegian and international theatres that have succeeded in turning the theatre building into an important space for children, youth, and the local community — theatres that work purposefully to strengthen their neighborhoods and provide room for new voices and perspectives.![]()
Through talks and presentations, Brixton House from London, Samovarteateret from Kirkenes, and Rosendal Teater from Trondheim will participate. In addition, Kloden Teater and the architects from Transborder Studio will present their plans for creating a natural and relevant artistic meeting place for children and youth.![]()
Kloden Teater is under construction, and in 2027 they will move from temporary premises into a permanent theatre building with multiple stages and rehearsal spaces, where children and youth can experience the best professional performing arts from Norway and abroad. And just as importantly: Kloden Teater will become a “third place” — a space between home and school where children and young people can meet, take part in creative processes, experience great performing arts, or simply be left alone if that’s what they want.![]()
In this development work, they are deeply committed to both seeking out and sharing experiences from Norway and abroad to help create such a place. Kloden Teater is part of Scenekunstbrukets Creative Europe project ‘3Place’, which will also be presented and referenced during the seminar.![]()
After the seminar, you can attend the performance “CamperGurlZ – Life is (not always) a highway” by and with Lisa Thun and Madeleine F. Røseth.![]()
Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.![]()

Over five days at Divadlo Drak a Mezinárodní institut figurálního divadla in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, 3place-partners and young participants from JES Stuttgart (Germany), Scenekunstbruket, and Kloden teater (Oslo, Norway) came together with local theatre makers and youth for a camp centered on the theme 3Place Artistic. The days were packed with performances, hands-on puppetry workshops, and discussions, while the evenings came alive with vibrant parties that fostered connection and creativity across borders. Here's a little peak into the camp!
